The Tourism Eco-Management course for Academic Year 2025–2026 has now come to a close.

We marked the end of this edition with the public presentation of the “Hut Culture” podcast episodes, produced by four student teams around four mountain-hut case studies: Franz-Fischer-Hütte, Rifugio Quintino Sella, Refuge de Plaisance, and Refuge du Goûter.

The international class demonstrated a clear understanding of the foundations of sustainable tourism—and, crucially, had the opportunity to test them through a full research-and-production pathway: literature review, questionnaire design, interview work, data and image collection, and the creation of an innovative narrative product able to translate evidence into public communication.

The guiding idea is simple and demanding: a mountain hut is not merely a building, but a living system in which water, energy, waste, logistics, access, safety, governance, and culture are intertwined. In that interdependence—and in the limits it implies—sustainability stops being a slogan and becomes practice.

A special thank-you for organisational support goes to Dr. Davide Caregnato, Director of the School of Management (SAA), Dr. Cristina Ragionieri, Head of the SAA International Relations Office, and Cecilia Mariani, Anna Lavatelli, Ciro Iavarone, SAA Communication Office.
